Singer/Songwriter and musicologist Gail Sparlin crafts folk influenced pop songs colored with her childhood influences of blues, country, and jazz. A northern Minnesota native and a music educator, Gail performs in the capital district of upstate New York. Gail’s projects include the album, Beautiful Kiss, available for streaming and download, an original musical titled Pokegama Hotel,  a NYSCA grant recipient produced in the fall of 2014, a song cycle based on the writings of Kurt Vonnegut staged for the Albany Public Library’s Reading Music Series in 2015, performing as a finalist in the songwriter competition at Solarfest  in 2016, singing backup with bluesman Tas Cru in 2018, and a 2023 Songwriter of the Year nominee for the Capital Region Thomas Edison Music Awards.  Check out Gail’s new album, This Holy Place, available on Apple Music, YouTube, Amazon, Spotify, Pandora, and WEXT Radio, and performed by her new band, Swamp Lily.
