Singer/Songwriter and musicologist Gail Sparlin crafts blues influenced pop songs colored with her childhood influences of folk, country, and jazz. A northern Minnesota native and a music educator, Gail performs in the capital district of upstate New York. Gail’s recent projects include an original musical titled Pokegama Hotel, a NYSCA grant recipient produced in the fall of 2014, a song cycle based on the writings of Kurt Vonnegut staged for the Albany Public Library’s Reading Music Series in 2015, performing as a finalist in the songwriter competition at Solarfest 2016, and most recently, singing backup with bluesman Tas Cru and His Band of Tortured Souls. Gail is currently taking the summer to complete her upcoming CD, This Holy Place.
