Singer/Songwriter and musicologist Gail Sparlin crafts blues influenced pop songs colored with her childhood influences of folk, country, and jazz. A northern Minnesota native and a music educator, Gail performs in the capital district of upstate New York. Gail’s projects include an original musical titled Pokegama Hotel, a NYSCA grant recipient produced in the fall of 2014, a song cycle based on the writings of Kurt Vonnegut staged for the Albany Public Library’s Reading Music Series in 2015, performing as a finalist in the songwriter competition at Solarfest 2016, and singing backup with bluesman Tas Cru in 2018. Gail is currently taking the winter to complete her upcoming CD, Beautiful Pieces, due out in February 2022.
