Singer/Songwriter and musicologist Gail Sparlin crafts folk influenced pop songs colored with her childhood influences of blues, country, and jazz. A northern Minnesota native and a music educator, Gail performs in the capital district of upstate New York. Gail’s projects include the album, Beautiful Kiss, available for streaming and download, an original musical titled Pokegama Hotel, a NYSCA grant recipient produced in the fall of 2014, a song cycle based on the writings of Kurt Vonnegut staged for the Albany Public Library’s Reading Music Series in 2015, performing as a finalist in the songwriter competition at Solarfest in 2016, singing backup with bluesman Tas Cru in 2018, and a 2023 Songwriter of the Year nominee for the Capital Region Thomas Edison Music Awards.
