Singer/Songwriter and musicologist Gail Sparlin crafts blues influenced pop songs colored with her childhood influences of folk, country, and jazz. A northern Minnesota native and a music educator, Gail performs in the capital district of upstate New York. Gail’s most recent projects include an original musical titled Pokegama Hotel, a NYSCA grant recipient produced in the fall of 2014, “So It Goes,”a song cycle based on the writings of Kurt Vonnegut staged last fall for the Albany Public Library’s Reading Music Series, and performing as a finalist in this year’s songwriter competition at Solarfest.
